I relied pretty heavily on Arfkin's Mathematical Methods for Physicists. There are not as many worked problems as in a problem centered guids, but the mthods, uses (physics) and mathematical approaches were well organized and spelled out. There were several editions - an older used edition will still work. Good luck and try to break up the studying with a little beer. It helps. Really.
